“What Bothers Me….”
*Everyone hates traffic.......
* ^ This photo was taken inside my vehicle while I was waiting for the cars to move in the heavy traffic that happens every morning in Rizal Avenue near R. Papa where the road construction like many other places never seems to dissipate. *
Some more photos:
*Floods still happen even after endless road constructions, what is our government doing>>?????*
*I took both photos in Monumento square right after I swam through the flood just to get to the jeep terminal :(( This is what happens in Malabon every time it rains hard....very irritating indeed but hey that's life, c'est la vie. It seems that even through endless road projects, the government still cannot solve this issue...And oh by the way the flood is knee-deep high just for clarity purposes cuz my photo's kind of blurry :D ....and kids were actually swimming in the flood and they were pretty good :P *
The Philippine government suffers
extreme corruption both internally and externally. We, the citizens often
exclaim that the government steals too much money from the people and that no
progress is occurring in the country. As a fellow citizen of the Philippines,
many things do cloud up my mind in the field of politics, but there is one
thing that bothers me so much every day- why is our road being repaired so many
times and yet never seems to be stable enough to withstand for a long time. Why
is that even through the many generations in the Philippines, heavy flood still
occur in our streets.
Some say that it is a strategy of
the government to steal more money from the treasury. They say that with every
road project, they can steal almost half of the money given to the project in
that they use weaker and cheaper materials for the project so that less money
is expended and they can get to keep the excess. With weaker materials used,
the roads tend to be weaker and can get easily destroyed with heavy storms or
floods; and therefore, they can easily issue another road project to steal more
money, quite ingenious if I must say.
This particular issue is what
bothers me the most because as a driver of my own car, I find it very
irritating that the roads get smaller as they do construction with it. The most
common result in their greedy projects is that heavy traffics occur because
that small piece of the road left cannot accommodate all the passing cars in
the area.
Everyone knows that heavy traffic
causes drivers to be more hot-headed and this increases the probability of
accidents happening on the road because almost everybody has a time they need
to catch up on and nobody wants to be late right?
World peace among others more is
what the government should be aiming at and if these hot-headed drivers caused
by the road hazards often fight with one another, there can never be world
peace or at least peace among our nation. There will just be constant hatred
among men so long as the government doesn’t stop this.
Furthermore, now that corruption and
theft among the government has been brought up, I can’t help but be bothered on
the question: “How can we stop this? How can we help improve our government
system? How do we eliminate corruption? And most importantly, what is politics?
Is politics all about theft and corruption?”
Most Filipinos fail to see the
bigger fish in the wide ocean that is the Philippines. The thoughts of most
people here is that this is the era of corruption and that we cannot do
anything about it. That we should just go with the flow and not dare to
innovate.
Well, I have one thing to say about
this stupid thought of the mass, it is that in the era of the cavemen and such,
people were illiterate but they weren’t dumb. They continued to innovate
through their lives and that is what brought us here today in the most
civilized and advanced community we can think of. If we are literate and these
people aren’t then why can’t we innovate and they can, right?
Moving on with my say, if people
fail to perceive this simple thought of mine then how can they even be smart
enough to run a government honestly? It is in the most simple act of virtue
that one can win the trust of another. And in trust do we find sincerity in our
respective jobs because for instance, if people respect and admire the mayor so
much as they idolize him, how can the mayor even dare to steal from the people
right?
The Philippine government remains
corrupt to this day. Nothing much changes even as different politicians come
and go. The mass still suffer from poor management of authorities and drivers
most definitely suffer from heavy traffic every day and are often forced to
wake up early very early in the morning.
This is what bothers me.
Not everyone hates traffic. I like traffic.
ReplyDeleteWTH? Who in the right mind would like traffic???? hahaha :P
